Uncommon Ice Cream is a locally owned ice cream shop in Boston’s South End. We create uncommon flavors, fresh, in-house. We’re committed to delivering great ice cream, excellent service, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere.

Position Overview

We’re seeking friendly, reliable, and hardworking team members to join us for the winter holiday season.

We have positions open at the Uncommon Ice Cream Shop AND SoWa Christmas Market.

Pay is $16–$18/hour plus tips.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve all menu items to guests

  • Process transactions accurately using a POS system

  • Deliver excellent guest service and create a welcoming environment for adults, children and four legged visitors

  • Maintain store cleanliness and follow all sanitation guidelines

  • Complete inventory tasks, including receiving and organizing vendor deliveries

  • Follow Uncommon Ice Cream’s standards for safety, hygiene, attire and employee conduct

Requirements

  • Availability from November 10 through January 4**

  • 3 - 5 shifts per week (15 - 35 hours). Hours will increase throughout the season.

  • Ability to operate a POS system

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude

  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged periods of time

  • Able to safely lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

  • Food service experience preferred

  • Food handler’s certificate a plus
