About Us
Uncommon Ice Cream is a locally owned ice cream shop in Boston’s South End. We create uncommon flavors, fresh, in-house. We’re passionate about delivering great ice cream, excellent service, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Position Overview
We’re seeking friendly, reliable, and hardworking summer team members to join our shop starting in April. Part time roles are 10–20 hours per week, nights and weekends. Full time roles are 30-40 hours per week.
Pay is $16–$18/hour plus tips.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve all menu items to guests
Process transactions accurately using a POS system
Deliver excellent guest service and create a welcoming environment for adults, children and four legged visitors
Maintain store cleanliness and follow all sanitation guidelines
Complete inventory tasks, including receiving and organizing vendor deliveries
Follow Uncommon Ice Cream’s standards for safety, hygiene, attire and employee conduct
Requirements
Ability to operate a POS system
Work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
Flexible availability:
3 or more free nights per week for part time (must include 1 or more weekend day)
5 or more open days or evenings for full time
Ability to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged periods of time
Able to safely lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
Food handler’s certificate a plus
